VOL. 17  /  DEFROST

Last week's Here.Happening was a blast! There's already another on the horizon, so stay tuned.

If yesterday’s snow brought fears of another bomb cyclone, worry not. Warmer temps and an eclectic mix of happenings are on the horizon. Read on.

Oh, and that staycation we mentioned last week? New plan: February.

Sunday Night

Series

Hmm, we've covered a lot of red meat in recent weeks… it's Whole30-friendly, right? Anyways, there's good reason for this.

The team at alpine eatery Brenner Pass and sister café Chairlift seems to be settling in because they're spreading their capable wings. Chairlift is kicking off a Sunday dinner series. This week's theme: Parisian steakhouse, complete with a 21-day aged ribeye and grand macaron. Act fast; only a handful of seats are still available.

P.S. Have you made it to Chairlift's Friday night Raclette?!

Making Space

For Women

Perhaps you've heard rumblings of The Broad? Now is time to pay attention because February 2, The Broad opens its doors. Sorry gents, this one is ladies only.

With a mission to make space for women (timely, no?), The Broad will act as a workspace, a clubhouse, and a community center for its members. Don't mistake it for a co-working space. This is a real conversation starter.

The 2,500-square-foot space is being designed by Flourish Spaces, so you know it's going to be good. Check their Instagram for previews of the space. A few Founding Broad memberships are still available, giving you an advantageous rate.

Poe

Party

We love to boast of Richmond’s food, music and art. But we might talk about Richmond’s quirks the most. Like how it’s home to the world’s largest celebration of Edgar Allen Poe’s birthday. The Poe Museum’s Saturday shindig will be packed with live music, performances, tours - and cake, of course.

Tickets are only $8, so grab your literature-loving friends and take advantage of the museum and neighborhood walking tours. Stick around until midnight to toast to the man of honor with champagne in the Shrine!
